What does a video or photo campaign cost in Flanders?

There is no fixed price list for a campaign. These are the seven factors that determine what a video or photo production in Flanders costs.

Wat kost een video- of fotocampagne in Vlaanderen?

It is often one of the first questions business owners ask: “What does a campaign actually cost?” The answer is less simple than you might think. There is no standard rate or fixed table, because every production is made to measure. The cost depends on a set of factors that together determine how much time, resources and expertise are needed.

1. The scope of the campaign

The difference between a short 30-second social video and a full brand campaign with several episodes is, of course, considerable.

  • Small campaigns often focus on one clear message or one product.
  • Larger campaigns work with multiple formats: videos, photography, teasers, behind-the-scenes and maybe even animations that together tell a bigger story.

The more deliverables you want, the more extensive the production becomes.

2. Concept and preparation

A strong campaign doesn't start at the camera, but with the idea. More work goes into this than you often think:

  • brainstorming sessions on the message and tone of voice
  • writing scripts or storyboards
  • casting actors or models
  • location scouting and practical organisation

A well-prepared production saves a lot of time later on. It makes sure the shoot days run smoothly and that the footage fits the strategy completely.

3. The production itself

This is when the cameras roll and the photos are taken. The cost here depends heavily on:

  • the number of shoot days
  • the size of the crew (camera operator, director, sound, make-up, stylist, …)
  • the equipment needed (cameras, lenses, drones, lighting setups, microphones)

Sometimes it is an intimate shoot with a single camera operator, sometimes a full set with several people and complex equipment.

4. Post-production and finishing

After the shoot, the real magic begins. In this phase, the raw material is turned into finished images:

  • editing and colour grading
  • adding music, voice-overs or sound design
  • animations and motion graphics
  • subtitles and different formats for social media
  • For photography, this means retouching, colour optimisation and formatting for web, print or advertising.

The more variations you want (for example a horizontal version for YouTube, a vertical one for Instagram and short snippets for TikTok), the more work goes into finishing.

5. Distribution and strategy

A campaign doesn't stop when the images are delivered. How you use the video or photos also determines the impact. Some production houses help you think about:

  • how best to distribute the content
  • which channels are suitable
  • how to test and optimise different versions
  • That strategic guidance can be an extra part of the campaign, but it does make sure your investment pays off as much as possible.

6. Why there are no fixed price tags

Precisely because all these elements differ so much from project to project, it is hard to put a fixed price on a campaign. It makes a big difference whether you plan one shoot day in an office, or several days with actors, locations and complex editing.

7. An investment that keeps paying off

Important to remember: a campaign is not a “cost” in the classic sense. It is an investment that brings visibility, brand awareness and trust. A well-made video or photo set can last for months, sometimes even years, and gets reused across different channels. So the added value lies not only in the end result, but also in the lifespan and versatility of the content.
